7) A certain machine can make 3 widgets every 2 seconds. At this rate, how many widgets will be made in 1 minute?

The machine makes 3 widgets every 2 seconds, and we want to know how many widgets it makes in 1 minute, or 60 seconds. Multiplying 2 seconds by 30 gives you 60 seconds. If the machine makes 3 widgets in 2 seconds, how many widgets does it cap in 30 times 2 seconds? 30 x 3, or 90 widgets is the answer.
