Review the information by clicking the link above and answer the following question.

If G is the daughter of Z, which of the following must be true?

1. A and C are of the same sex.
2. A and D are of the same sex.
3. C is not of the same sex as B.
4. E is not of the same sex as F.
5. F is not the same sex as G.

You know that C and D are females and that either A or B is female. So A or B is male, and of the remaining three relatives, E, F, or G, one is male as well. If G is the daughter of Z this establishes that she is female and, further, that either E or F is the remaining male. Therefore these two are not the same sex.
