Explanation

DRAM, or Dynamic Random Access Memory, was manufactured with capacitors that stored electrical power, but also would fade over time. They had to be constantly "refreshed", and as a result would take longer to process data. Remember, DRAM needs to be refreshed constantly or data will disappear.
