The best way to start is do a practice test online or from a book at the library and see what your weak points are. The library usually has really good books to use to study. Also they sometimes have videos you can get. Video aided instruction puts out a good video. Here is the link to their website if you wanted to buy the series I would check the library first. http://www.videoaidedinstruction.com/

I have a study group on yahoo if you wanted to join.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GEDstudygroup/

Also here is a website that sells used books really cheap. You maybe able to find a ged book on there if you wanted. Just make sure to get one printed 2002 or later since that is when they changed the test.
http://www.thriftbooks.com/

I hope all of this helps and good luck.
Take as many practice test you can find online, they are harder then the actual test that they give to you at the ged center. If you can pass online testings then you got it made. Good luck ..
