IonoTearflail | Posted - 14 November 2005 9:11 I read a few of the earlier topics about GED scoring, and then went back to the practice exam I took (here on 4Tests) this morning to try to figure my score. I'm not positive I did it right, so I'm looking for affirmation here...Language Arts - Reading: 600 (35/40 correct) Language Arts - Writing: 681 (23/27) Mathematics: 722 (29/31) Science: 656 (18/22) Social Studies: 512 (16/25) So, if I did all of those right (dividing the number of questions for each test into 800), then my average would be 634.8? Is that correct? And would they round the .8, or leave it as is? |
Naja | Posted - 18 November 2005 0:59 Now you average is 659,28
I thinnk they will round it,
You take

Mathematics: (29/31)
31 - 800
29 - x
x=800*29/31 = 748,38

Science: (18/22)
22-800
18-x
x=18*800/22=654.54

Language Arts - Reading:(35/40 correct)
40-800
35-x
x=700

Language Arts - Writing:(23/27)
27-800
23-x
x=681,48

Social Studies: (16/25)
25-800
16-x
x= 512

(512+748,38+681,48+700+654,54)/5 = 659,28
|
lildevil862007 | Posted - 21 November 2005 9:59 hi my name is kayla and if you do not understand what the other person wrote then you can look and my section that says Examples of Passing and Not Passing Scores. i hope that also helps you
kayla |
dgallo | Posted - 24 January 2006 14:59 that equation doesn't work. which i just found out because i found this site just a few minutes ago which shows how it is graded but it makes no sense
http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0809222329/student_view0/ged_score.html
hope you can make better sense of how its graded than i could |
dgallo | Posted - 24 January 2006 15:39 i'm pretty sure its graded the same as the SAT's which i can't seem to figure out |
dgallo | Posted - 24 January 2006 15:55 i'm wondering if anyone who has taken the GED more than once could tell me how many questions are on each section of the test and if don't mind how many you got right and your score cause i'm trying to create an algorithm to figure out how they grade the testsand how you can use the percentage from the practice scores to find out what you'd get if you had taken the real test. if you have any information email me at gallo.dennis@gmail.com |
