Section Description

Physical Sciences

Physical Sciences is the second section you'll tackle on MCAT test day, and for many students it's a doozy. After a ten-minute post-Verbal break, you'll spend 100 minutes answering 77 questions in physics and general chemistry. The facts you'll need to know are covered in most introductory-level college courses, but you will need to study to have material fresh in mind. Furthermore, you will be asked to read passages from journal articles that use those pre-med science concepts in real scientific applications. Then you'll be asked questions that rely on both your science knowledge and your understanding of the passage you've just read. Sound scary? Most students grow more comfortable with Physical Sciences through study and practice.
